Joe Cocker & Leon Russell Tribute with The Mad Dogs & Englishmen
A legendary night in rock and roll history is recreated this spring at Des Plaines Theatre with The Mad Dogs & Englishmen Concert Tribute. Hear the music and stories in this one-of-a-kind show produced by Soundtracks Of A Generation. An all-star 10-piece band pays tribute to the historic 1970 The Mad Dogs & Englishmen concert with Joe Cocker and Leon Russell, recorded at the famed Fillmore East. Joe Cocker was one of the greatest interpreters of songs of his generation, whose genre-busting career spanned over five decades from Rock and Soul, to ballads and contemporary classics. Leon Russell is a music legend and perhaps the most accomplished and versatile musician in the history of rock ‘n roll. In his distinguished and unique 50 year career, he has played on, arranged, written and/or produced some of the best records in popular music.
This STOAG show recreates this legendary concert that captured Cocker at the peak of his career and made a star out of bandleader Leon Russell. They performed in 48 cities in 57 days and it was one of the more decadent and drama-filled tours of all time; at one point boasting an entourage of 45 people, flying on an old Constellation airplane dubbed “Cocker Power”. The Sweet // The Babys
British rock band Sweet rose to worldwide fame in the 1970s as a prominent glam rock act. Their musical style followed a marked progression from their pop hits to the Who influenced hard rock style supplemented by the striking use of high-pitched vocals. Sweet achieved notable success with 39 #1 singles worldwide including - Ballroom Blitz - Fox On the Run - Love Is Like Oxygen - Little Willy - Blockbuster - Hell Raiser - Action - Teenage Rampage - AC/DC - Set Me Free - and No You Don’t among others. A series of gold albums resulted in vinyl and CD worldwide sales of over 55 million copies. Sweet left an indelible mark on the ‘70s, not only
by way of a string of worldwide hit singles and innovative albums, but also via their unforgettable visual image, whether it be as a glittering, sequined glam band or the leather adorned rockers that pre-dated a host of similarly attire metal bands later in the decade. Joe Elliot from Def Leppard, Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue and Gene Simmons of KISS have all credited Sweet as their inspiration.
Sweet original founding member, Steve Priest came out of retirement in 2007. Mr. Priest partnered with drummer Richie Onori and multi-instrumentalist Stevie Stewart to recreate and assemble a group that would deliver the high energy multi hit show to the world. Sweet was off to the races performing thousands of shows around the world. Upon Steve Priest’s untimely exit from this world, Mr. Priest and his Priest Family Trust asked Richie Onori and Stevie Stewart to carry on the Sweet legacy so that music fans around the world will witness the sheer scope and intensity of the British Band Sweet, that changed the scope of music! It’s easy to agree with him that both “Sweet” & “Queen” changed the world of music. Sweet’s current line- up is Stevie Stewart (Bass/Vocals), Richie Onori Drums), Jimmy Burkard (Guitar), Dave Schultz (Keys/Vocals) and front man Patrick Stone on (lead vocals). With major track records of their own, the group continues onward, delivering the legacy and tradition with performances that rock the audiences the way Steve Priest proudly insisted must be carried on.

POP 2000 TOUR with Chris Kirkpatrick of *NSYNC, O-Town, BBMak, Ryan Cabrera & LFO
Who says #Throwbacks are reserved for Thursdays? The Pop 2000 Tour delivers the TRL moments that will bring you right back to the early 2000s. POP 2000 TOUR features Chris Kirkpatrick of *NSYNC, O-Town, BBMak, Ryan Cabrera and LFO!
About the Artists:
Chris Kirkpatrick is an American singer, dancer, actor, and voice actor who is best known for his work as a founding member of the pop group *NSYNC. As a voice actor, he has worked on numerous kids shows, including voicing the character of Chip Skylark on “The Fairly Oddparents”. In 2022, he competed in Season 3 of “Celebrity Big Brother” and “The Masked Singer”.
O-Town’s story began in 1999, when “Making the Band” chronicled the rise to success of O- Town throughout three seasons of the series on both ABC and MTV. The group’s first two full- length albums included #1 singles, “Liquid Dreams” and “All or Nothing” and the Top 40 hit “We Fit Together.” “All or Nothing” was nominated for Song of the Year at the Radio Music
Awards in 2001.
BBMak Originally formed in 1997, BBMAK (Mark Barry, Christian Burns, and Stephen McNally) are officially “Back Here” after a 15-year hiatus. The multi-platinum-selling English pop group has sold more than three million albums and had hit singles worldwide before disbanding in 2003. Best known for their self-penned infectious guitar-driven hits “Back Here”, “Out
of My Heart”, and “The Ghost of You and Me”, BBMAK was one of the few bands during the pop explosion of the early 2000s to play their own instruments and write their own songs. Billboard recently named “Back Here” the 9th greatest boy band song of all time.
Ryan Cabrera is the singer and songwriter behind ubiquitous smashes such as “On the Way Down,” “True” and “Shine On” as well as albums including 2004’s Take It All Away, which hit #8 on the Billboard Top 200. Ryan was also featured heavily on MTV’s “Ashlee Simpson Show” and “The Hills”.
LFO burst onto the scene in 1999 with the #1 smash hit "Summer Girls" and followed with another top-five hit in "Girl on TV" and the top-ten hit, "Every Other Time". Today, lone surviving member Brad Fischetti keeps the name of LFO alive, performing the songs to fans, new and old.

The Skatalites
2024 rings in the 60th Anniversary of the originators, whose influence in the world of ska, reggae, and pop music is unparalleled, THE SKATALITES!!! The original members played on hundreds of recording sessions before forming the band in 1964. Backing most of the vocalists in Jamaica at that time, including Bob Marley, Toots and The Maytals, Jimmy Cliff, Alton Ellis, Ken Boothe and many more The Skatalites secured their place in history early on. After disbanding in 1965 the individual members continued playing in various groups as the music evolved from ska to rocksteady to reggae.
In the late 70's a resurgence of interest in the music began in the U.K. which caused the creation of many bands such as The Specials, The English Beat, Madness, The Selecter and Bad Manners. This became known as the "Two-Tone era" and these British musicians fused rock music with the ska and reggae. In The early 80's the music started to spread to the U.S.A and other parts of the world. Bands began to emerge all over the globe playing different flavors of ska and reggae fused with whatever else they wanted to throw in, including hard core, jazz and even punk. In 1983 The Skatalites reunited to play Reggae Sunsplash in Montego Bay and subsequently in London at The Crystal Palace for the U.K version of the Sunsplash event. A few years later they began emigrating to the U.S.A and in 1986 the first US shows began at The Village Gate in NYC. The band supported Bunny Wailer on The Liberation Tour in 1989 and followed it up in 1990 embarking on their first-ever headline tour of The U.S.A. The Skatalites have not stopped touring the world ever since and continue to be available for festivals, casinos, and intimate venue settings. Their uniquely infectious brand of real, authentic Jamaican ska excites audiences of all ages across the globe year after year.

LIVE TODAY LOVE TOMORROW TOUR MMXXIV with The Alarm, Jay Aston’s Gene Loves Jezebel & Belouis Some
LIVE TODAY LOVE TOMORROW TOUR MMXXIV presents a phalanx of British music artists who first came to prominence in North America during the original MTV music television era when The Alarm, Gene Loves Jezebel and Belouis Some all broke onto the scene with music that collectively blurred the lines between new wave, alternative rock and pop music as we know it.
The Alarm first arrived onto the US music scene in 1983 via an appearance on the original MTV Cutting Edge TV Show and a debut tour of America as the opening act for U2 on the War Tour. Subsequently described by Bono as “The second greatest rock and roll band in the world’, The Alarm has maintained a constant North American presence ever since via classic singles such as The Stand, Strength and Rain In The Summertime. More recently, their last four albums – Equals (2018), Sigma (2019), Omega (2022) and Forwards (2023), have all featured in the top thirty of the Billboard Hot 100 Independent album chart.
British goth rockers Gene Loves Jezebel also featured in heavy rotation across the MTV Network establishing their songs Desire, The Motion of Love and Jealous as massive Billboard Hit singles. With their ever present and enigmatic front man at the helm, Jay Aston’s Gene Loves Jezebel recently performed at the inaugural Cruel World Festival in California 2022 appearing alongside the likes of Morrissey, Bauhaus and Blondie. The band have also recently signed to Cleopatra in the USA and have a brand new album Love Death Sorrow that will be available at all good record stores and online outlets during the Live Today Love Tomorrow MMXXIV tour.
Belouis Some created the classic international hit singles ‘Imagination’ and ‘Some People’ in1985, and while touring with Frankie Goes To Hollywood caused controversy at MTV with a nude video created by the legendary Storm Thorgerson. In 1986, Belouis Some contributed the song ‘Round, Round’ to the classic John Hughes’ era defining film soundtrack ‘Pretty In Pink’ which was listed in Rolling Stone magazine’s list of “The 25 Greatest Soundtracks of All Time” and (like The Alarm), also appeared as special guest to Freddie Mercury and Queen in the UK .
Live Today Love Tomorrow Tour MMXXIV will give North American fans a chance to ‘step back into the future’ and hear a soundtrack of music from three classic British artists who all played a part in shaping the musical landscape that dominates the airwaves of today.

Spyro Gyra – 50th Anniversary
In 2024, Jay Beckenstein and band observe the 50th anniversary of what started as a diversion, something that was just for fun (and twenty-five cents at the door). It began inauspiciously when Beckenstein and a few musician friends in Buffalo NY organized a get together on their shared night off from working in bands that actually made money. It was a simple, humble idea with a name that was likewise simple and humble, “Tuesday Night – Jazz Jam”. Fast forward 50 years and this jazz super group has released over 30 albums, garnering gold and platinum along the way. They’ve played over 10,000 concerts on six continents. Spyro Gyra has maintained its standards of excellence and that has sustained them on the “A list” of live attractions in jazz for 50 years.
Blood, Sweat and Tears
No one can argue BS&T invented a new style of music. Blood, Sweat & Tears is not the first band to ever use a horn section, but they are the first to fuse it with rock, jazz, and some blues thrown in for good measure. Blood Sweat & Tears has had many configurations over its 50 plus years of touring but one thing for sure is that the music is timeless, and fans are never disappointed. Blood Sweat & Tears takes young musicians and prepares them for life in the music industry. Notable hits include "You've Made Me So Very Happy", "Spinning Wheel," "I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know," "I Can't Quit Her," and so many more!
WAR: 50th Anniversary Tour
WAR, one of music’s defining and most enduring soul/funk groups, was founded in Long Beach, California, in 1962. In 1970, producer Jerry Goldstein united the seven-piece band with former Animals lead singer Eric Burdon; the alliance produced the No. 1 worldwide hit “Spill the Wine.” Stepping out on their own in 1971, they launched a fruitful career with a dynamic sound that fused R&B, rock, Latin music, jazz, and blues. In 1973, their smash album The World is a Ghetto vaulted to No. 1 on Billboard’s pop and R&B charts behind the crossover success of two top-10 singles, the album’s socially conscious title song and its rollicking follow-up “The Cisco Kid.” Over a long and glittering career, WAR has rung up more than 20 multi-platinum, platinum and gold albums and singles. This year, fronted by co-founding member Lonnie Jordan, the group will celebrate 50 years of 1973’s #1 Billboard top-selling album, The World is a Ghetto, with a 50-date summer tour, remixes, new releases and more.
