Welcome Back My Friends: The Return on Emerson Lake & Palmer

Sole surviving member Carl Palmer, in association with the Estates of his bandmates Keith Emerson & Greg Lake, has announced the much anticipated  WELCOME BACK MY FRIENDS- THE RETURN OF EMERSON LAKE &  PALMER Tour.  The tour will actually reunite ELP LIVE ON STAGE through modern technology. After exploring the idea of a Hologram tour in detail, Palmer (with the Estates of Emerson and Lake) opted for what they felt was a more honest approach using live footage of Keith and Greg on massive video walls alongside Carl (and his band) playing LIVE on stage. The voice and instrumentation of Greg Lake and the unmistakable keyboard mastery of Keith Emerson will be mixed with Palmer’s onstage live drumming to magically reunite ELP once again. Paul McCartney's duet with John Lennon at the end of his recent Got Back tour is a good idea of what ELP fans can expect from this show. ...

John Lennon – Imagine All The People Living Life In Peace

SoundTracks Of A Generation is proud to present a one night only experience—the songs and the life of John Lennon in a chronological soundscape. Jay Goeppner, arguably one of the best Lennonesque singers on the planet, assumes the role of John himself. Jay has just returned from a 15th trip to perform at the famed Cavern Club in Liverpool, England, where his voice & performance are highlights of the Beatles festival each & every year. This 100-minute retrospective begins in 1966, when the Beatles made the momentous decision to stop touring & concentrate solely on music composed in the studio. That was when the seeds to Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band were sown. Songs culled from that album as well as Rubber Soul, Revolver, The White Album, Abbey Road and the rooftop concert for Let It Be as the Beatles’ final performance will be faithfully reproduced. The second half of the show will deal with John Lennon’s solo career from The Plastic Ono Band, to his signature album Imagine, to Sometime In New York City, Mind Games, Walls & Bridges and Rock & Roll. The show concludes with selections from John & Yoko’s final recording, Double Fantasy, released just prior to his death on December 8, 1980, forty-two years to the day before this show at The Des Plaines Theatre. Jay Goeppner and his crack SoundTracks band will intertwine these songs with multimedia images to create the monumental musical & emotional impact that John Lennon brought to the world. This show is a creation borne out of love. ...

The Ides of March Christmas Show

Since 1964 Chicago’s IDES OF MARCH has thrilled audiences with their mix of rocking guitars, brilliant brass, and heartfelt vocals. Powered by the unforgettable songs of Grammy-Winner Jim Peterik, their music has become an evergreen feature on radio stations everywhere, in movie soundtracks, and national advertising campaigns. Their live shows are legendary for their energy and sheer enjoyment. Defying the odds, the four original members, Jim Peterik-Guitar, Larry Millas-Guitar, Bob Bergland-Bass, and Mike Borch-Drums have remained together, weaving their way through the shifts in popular music, and always rising to action in creating a show that remains at the peak of entertainment. The original members are joined by Scott May-Keyboards, Tim Bales- Trumpet, Henry Salgado-Trombone, and Steve Eisen-Saxophone. That show has become a cornucopia of platinum hits, starting with the Ides’ own immortal “Vehicle”. Upon its release in April of 1970, the brass-driven tale of the “friendly stranger in the black sedan” became Warner Brother’s fastest selling single of all time, and to this very moment is played daily on radio stations throughout the world. It has become one of those rare chestnuts that no matter how many times you hear it, one never tires in its listening. In contrast to “Vehicle’s” power, lies the lush vocal harmonies of the Ides’ “L.A. Goodbye”, the centerpiece of the unplugged mini-set inside each Ides Of March concert. Their 1965 debut single “You Wouldn’t Listen” harkens back to the British invasion of the time. It is astounding to hear the band so nimbly returning to its roots, summoning the voices of their youth. Chicago’s very own “THE IDES OF MARCH”, for over 50 years, an irresistible favorite. Top Of The World…A Carpenters Christmas

Top Of The World is The World’s Premiere Tribute to The Carpenters! Fronted by singer Debbie Taylor, her Karen Carpenter vocal resemblance is absolutely astonishing. She is backed by a seven piece band consisting of top-notch, professional industry musicians who have had amazing careers in their own right. The band members are all multi-instrumentalists and at times use 3 keyboards to recreate the incredibly complex arrangements created by Richard Carpenter. The attention to detail paired with saxophone, trumpet, flute and many more instruments complete every song to perfection! This show does not use tracks or pick up musicians like other shows. This is an 8 piece band that travels and performs all shows together.  Additionally, they have a multi-media slideshow. Who can forget the incomparable music of the Carpenters? The popular brother/sister duo of the 70’s and early 80’s gave us some of the most unforgettable ballads and melodic pop songs of all time. This Carpenters Tribute Band brings the most authentic versions of the Carpenters music to the stage. No doubt, you will be singing along as they perform hits like; “Close To You”, “We’ve Only Just Begun”, “Rainy Days And Mondays”, “Please Mr. Postman” and “Yesterday Once More”, to name a few. Pino Farina Band

Adult-alternative rockers, Pino Farina Band, are known for their showmanship, high-energy performances as well as tender, intimate songs. Lead singer and lyricist Pino Farina’s powerhouse voice is his true instrument and is often compared to that of late indie-artist Jeff Buckley’s. His five-octave voice range envelops one’s heart as he and the band take listeners through trials, tribulations, and redemption in their songs. The Pino Farina Band has performed in raucous music halls, at intimate listening rooms, on festival stages, and even inside a barn. This journey has also led them back to the studio to record songs for their upcoming release entitled, Daisies. Their latest EP is not a sweet flower of an album, but a “pushing up daisies” collection of songs dealing with self-doubt, relationship struggles, rock bottoms and situations where life turns on a dime. But never does Pino Farina Band leave you mired there. The songs and the band’s optimism inherent in their music reassures that redemption and renewal are on the way.  ...

America

Founding members, Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell met in high school in London in the late 1960s and quickly harmonized their way to the top of the charts on the strength of their signature song "A Horse With No Name." Fifty plus years later, these friends are still making music together, touring the world and thrilling audiences with their timeless sound. America's journey has found them exploring a wide variety of musical terrain. Their best-known tunes, which also include "I Need You," "Ventura Highway," "Don't Cross The River," "Tin Man," "Lonely People," and "Sister Golden Hair" were cornerstones of 1970's Top 40 and FM rock radio. Yet beyond their impressive catalog of hits, listeners would discover there was always much more to America than surface perceptions. The combination of Gerry Beckley's melodic porgy of his hometown’s rich musical heritage. Combining the melodic pop-rock sensibilities of Cheap Trick and a will to evolve worthy of Wilco, "Freedom" also doffs its cap to Fuller’s love of classic English bands such as The Hollies and the Rubber Soul and Revolver-era Beatles.p rock and Dewey Bunnell's use of folk-jazz elements, slinky Latin-leaning rhythms and impressionistic lyric imagery contrasted well with Dan Peek's more traditional country-rock leanings and highly personal lyrics. ...

The Gilmour Project – PInk Floyd’s “The Dark Side Of The Moon”

The Gilmour Project returns in 2023 celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Pink Floyd’s 1973 ‘The Dark Side of The Moon’.  There are Pink Floyd tribute bands … and then there is The Gilmour Project. The 5-piece, All-Star ensemble, quickly gained a reputation for flipping the ‘Tribute Band’ script on its head, with exploratory performances of iconic and deep cut Pink Floyd classics, David Gilmour-centric and solo compositions, and pulling other surprise classic rock masterpieces out of their hats. Their version of (David Gilmour ‘discovery’) Kate Bush’s ‘Running Up That Hill’ appeared nightly in their sets, weeks ahead of its ‘Stranger Things’ buoyed resurgence to the top of the charts and worldwide press … making the band appear spookily prescient. Not satisfied with laurel resting, they immediately began adding geographic / historically prerogative selections … Grateful Dead’s ‘Dark Star’ in San Francisco … Patti Smith’s (Van Morrison’s actually) ‘Gloria’ in Detroit … The Band’s ‘The Weight’ in Ontario … The Allman Bros. ‘Jessica’ in Atlanta … Tom Petty’s ‘Breakdown’ in Florida … Santana’s (Peter Green composition) ‘Black Magic Woman’ in Mexico City. The Gilmour Project is Jeff Pevar (lead guitar with CSN, David Crosby/CPR, Joe Cocker, Ray Charles, Bette Midler, Blue Floyd, Phil Lesh & Friends, Ricki Lee Jones, Marc Cohn), Kasim Sulton (bass & vocals with Todd Rundgren’s Utopia, Meatloaf, Blue Oyster Cult, Hall & Oates, Cheap Trick & Joan Jett), Prairie Prince (co-founder of The Tubes, original drummer with Journey, drums with Todd Rundgren, Blue Floyd, Jefferson Starship, Phil Lesh & Friends, XTC, George Harrison, Chris Isaak, Dick Dale), Mark Karan (guitar & vocals with Bob Weir, RatDog, The Other Ones, The Airplane Family, Live Dead ’69, Tom Constanten Scott Guberman keyboard & vocals with Phil Lesh & Friends, Live Dead ’69, Keystone Revisited, Englishtown Project ...

Comedian Joe Avati - When I Was Your Age

Internationally renowned for his inimitable style Avati, who is Australian born with an Italian heritage, is a master of treading the very fine line saying what everyone seems to think but no one dares to say whilst not resorting to the use of profanities or vulgar shock tactic routines in doing so. In his latest offering WHEN I WAS YOUR AGE… he tackles the 'then versus now' generational differences of today's kids, the complexities of modern-day parenting compared to the strict upbringing of yesteryear and threaded throughout all of this he tackles the minefield of cancel culture, the woke brigade and why people are over political correctness. His observations are not only deadly accurate but extremely relatable to all ages.  This is a show for all the family. Bring your parents to highlight how much they have changed since they were your age, bring your friends to laugh and reminisce about growing up as teenagers when you were that age and most importantly bring your kids so that they know what you went through “when I was your age…”  ...
