A legendary night in rock and roll history is recreated this spring at Des Plaines Theatre with The Mad Dogs & Englishmen Concert Tribute. Hear the music and stories in this one-of-a-kind show produced by Soundtracks Of A Generation. An all-star 10-piece band pays tribute to the historic 1970 The Mad Dogs & Englishmen concert with Joe Cocker and Leon Russell, recorded at the famed Fillmore East.  Joe Cocker was one of the greatest interpreters of songs of his generation, whose genre-busting career spanned over five decades from Rock and Soul, to ballads and contemporary classics. Leon Russell is a music legend and perhaps the most accomplished and versatile musician in the history of rock ‘n roll. In his distinguished and unique 50 year career, he has played on, arranged, written and/or produced some of the best records in popular music.

This STOAG show recreates this legendary concert that captured Cocker at the peak of his career and made a star out of bandleader Leon Russell. They performed in 48 cities in 57 days and it was one of the more decadent and drama-filled tours of all time; at one point boasting an entourage of 45 people, flying on an old Constellation airplane dubbed “Cocker Power”.  Don’t miss this night of unforgettable music and stories!
