BOURBON ‘N BRASS SPEAKEASY: PRE-VALENTINE’S DAY CELEBRATION! LIVE JAZZ WITH THE BOURBON ‘N BRASS TRIO featuring KIMBERLY GORDON & DAKOTA HORVATH
February 6 @ 8:30 pm
Kimberly Gordon is truly a remarkable musician who has dedicated her life to honoring the great composers and jazz masters of the early 20th century. With a personal connection to Chicago’s nightlife (her grandfather was a renowned dancer at the historic Chêz Pareé nightclub, while her Nana worked there as a camera girl – thanks to her childhood friend and mobster, Sam Giancana) her love and knowledge of the American Songbook has led her to become a celebrated musician who honors the composers, lyricists, and jazz masters of that era. Kimberly made history as the first woman to hold a Saturday night residency at the legendary Smalls Jazz Club in Manhattan. Collaborating with jazz legends such as Roy Hargrove, Betty Carter, Wynton Marsalis, Harry “Sweets” Edison, and John Hicks, Kimberly’s sound is deeply rooted in the ways of the masters, always faithful to the melody as written, and sets her apart from the crowd. Her passion and talent are undeniable, and her performances are nothing short of graceful and skillful. Whether she’s touring Europe or playing at Winter’s Jazz Club in Chicago with her quartet, Kimberly never fails to captivate her audience with her incredible music and devotion to the art form. If you’re a fan of jazz, or simply appreciate great music, you won’t want to miss the opportunity to experience Kimberly Gordon’s unparalleled talent firsthand.
DAKOTA started his career tributing FRANK SINATRA at the age of 5 at Mickey Rourke’s Club in Miami. SINATRA fell in love with him and invited him backstage when he was 8. It made “The National Enquirer.” SINATRA told DAKOTA, “You’ve got IT kid” and handed him his orange handkerchief from his vest pocket before he went on stage. DAKOTA has been tributing SINATRA ever since – from LEGENDS IN CONCERT in Vegas to BRAD PITT and JENNIFER ANISTON’S wedding in LA, to opening for NATALIE COLE to wrapping one year at THE FOUR QUEENS CASINO in Vegas in THE BROADWAY RAT PACK.
