Join us in our intimate Bourbon ‘N Brass Speakeasy, located on the 2nd floor of the Des Plaines Theatre, for an evening of Jazz with Suzie Telep & The Bourbon ‘N Brass Trio! Food and hand-crafted cocktails are available for purchase. There is a $10 entertainment fee which helps us pay the performer. No RSVP required. Seating is first-come, first-seated. We kindly ask for a two-drink or equivalent minimum.
Suzie Telep’s music is a subtle blend of jazz, soul and gospel with African rhythms and mixed sounds. Through the poetry of the languages and cultures she carries within her, Suzie sings about assuming her multiple identities while accepting her personal and collective history. Through her art, she also wants to raise awareness about racism and women’s issues, and to inspire black and minority women to be confident on their beauty and their strengths.
