The Cave Dwellers became known as “Chicago’s Original Garage Rock Band.” Their early recordings took place at Fong’s Cantonese Restaurant, leading to the release of songs such as “Don’t Break My Heart Again.” After personnel changes and a feature in the Chicago Sun-Times thanks to fan Carmen Poulos, the band recorded “You Know Why” and the hit “Run Around” in 1967, showcasing their lasting presence in the local music scene over the past 50 years.
